Rebirthing - Month One (pt. 1)

So I think I’m going to start using this thing again. But this time the intent has changed.

Today begins the chronicles of my residents in Hail Hall. A documentary of sorts.

I’ll start off from the beginning. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first got the call that I had been offered a position in Hail, my old freshman dorm. I knew that it would be awesome, as I speak from experience when I say that Hail Hall is by far the best freshman dorm on campus. The nervousness only grew as I started RA training week and move-in day drew closer. And now here I sit in the lobby, having seen many of my residents come and go throughout the past hour. All of them individual and unique in their own way.

So often it happens that new residents of a hall get compared to old ones of years past. It is tough not to. But not too many of my guys fit characters past. I definitely have discovered social groups though and who hangs out with whom. Not so surprisingly, most of them have developed connections with people here in the hall. Only a place as small and tight as Hail, with our grand total of 70-some residents, can do that within the first couple weeks.

I’ve already seen the classics. Lobby romances, late night shenanigans, unrelenting musicians, a crazy Asian and Belmont’s fair share of neo-hippie, awkward, indie kids.
